How can we help?

Answers to the questions we hear most about tracking a device, reading its data, and saving a copy of it.

Data is deleted 30 days after a device's last reading.

Getting started

How do I track a device?

Press the camera button on the home page and scan the QR code on the device's label, or type the reference code printed beside it. Either way the device's page opens straight away.

Where do I find the reference code?

It is printed on the device's label next to the QR code, in the form DT-XXXXX-XXXXX. The QR code holds the same code, so scanning saves you typing it.

The site says my reference code doesn't look right.

Compare it with the label again - a reference code is DT and ten characters - or scan the QR code instead and skip the typing.

I scanned a label and it says the device is not activated yet.

That is the normal state of a new box. The label is printed before the logger inside it is registered, so the page starts showing readings once the two are paired. If you think it should be reporting already, send us the reference code shown on that page.

Do I need an account?

Not to track a device - anyone with the reference code can open its page and see the readings. Signing in with LINE or WeChat is needed to download the CSV or the PDF report, to pin devices to My devices, and to set up alerts.

Can I use the site in another language?

Yes - use the language menu in the header. It offers English, ไทย, 中文, ລາວ, Tiếng Việt, Bahasa Melayu and မြန်မာ. A link you share opens in the language you were reading.

Reading your data

What do the boxes at the top of a device page show?

How many readings the device has sent, when the latest one arrived, the province it was last seen in, and how much battery it has left.

How often does a device report?

About every 10 minutes, so a full day is around 140 readings. A longer gap between two rows usually means the device had no signal at that point.

How long is my data kept?

Data is deleted 30 days after a device's last reading. If you need it after that, contact us.

Why do some readings have no location?

A device cannot always get a GPS fix - inside a container or a building, for example. Those readings still record temperature and humidity; they simply do not appear on the map.

Can I look at temperature and humidity separately?

Click either name under the chart to hide that line. The route on the map follows along, so you can see where in the journey a shipment warmed up. Click the name again to bring the line back.

It says the device is not available yet.

The device is still being tested. It is already recording, and its history opens up once it has been released.

How do I read through the log?

The telemetry log lists the newest reading first, twenty rows to a page. Use the controls underneath to move through the history.

Downloads and reports

How do I get the PDF report?

The report is a finished document you can send on or keep on file. A long history takes a few seconds to prepare.

  1. Sign in with LINE or WeChat.

  2. Open the device's tracking page.

  3. Press PDF report, above the telemetry log.

  4. The file downloads on its own, named duritrace-report-[reference code]-[date].pdf. On an iPhone or iPad the share sheet opens instead, or a Share report button appears to open it.

Nothing happened when I pressed PDF report.

Browsers built into other apps - LINE's, for one - often refuse to save a file a page has made. When that happens the page says so and offers two ways on: Try again, and Open the report, which shows the finished report in a new tab you can save from. If neither works, open the tracking page in Chrome or Safari instead, or download the report on a computer, where it always works.

On my iPhone the share sheet opens instead of a download.

That is deliberate. iPhones and iPads are handed the report as a file: choose Save to Files to keep it, or pick a chat to send it straight on. Saving it the other way posts a temporary link beside the report, and that link stops working as soon as the page is closed. If the report took a few seconds to draw, iOS will not open the sheet on its own - a Share report button appears beside PDF report, and the sheet opens when you press that.

What is in the PDF report?

A cover page with the reference code, the reading period and the route map; a page of temperature, humidity and battery charts; and then the complete log. Every page is numbered and carries the reference code and the report ID. All times are in UTC.

How can someone check a report is genuine?

Every report is recorded when it is downloaded, and carries a report ID and a verification link. Open the link, or enter the ID on the verify page, to see what was issued. Choose the PDF file there to confirm it has not been changed. For a printed copy, compare the device, reading period and number of readings with the record.

How do I download the data as a CSV?

Sign in, open the device's tracking page, and press Download CSV above the telemetry log. The file is named duritrace-[reference code]-[date].csv and contains every reading in the history, newest first.

What is in the CSV file?

One row per reading: time, temperature, humidity, light, battery, position, and the country and province. Times are written in UTC so the file reads the same in any spreadsheet, wherever it was downloaded.

Why do the downloads ask me to sign in?

Both files carry the device's full history, so they are only produced for a signed-in account. Sign in with LINE or WeChat and the buttons become active.

Alerts and your devices

How do I get notified about a device?

Alerts arrive on LINE, so you need to be friends with duri:trace first.

  1. Open Notification settings on the device's tracking page.

  2. Scan the QR code shown there to add duri:trace as a friend on LINE.

  3. Choose what to be told about: temperature above a limit, humidity above a limit, a move to a different province, or a summary every morning at 8am.

  4. Press Save preferences.

How do I keep the devices I use to hand?

Press Pin device on a tracking page and give it a name. Pinned devices are listed under My devices, where you can search, sort, archive, and add another one by its reference code or by scanning its QR code.

How do I add a device to My devices?

By its reference code or by its QR code - the device does not need to have reported anything yet.

  1. Open My devices and press Add device.

  2. Type the reference code from the label, or press the camera button and scan the QR code on the device.

  3. Give it a name you will recognise and press Add.

Still stuck?

Message us on LINE, or reach us by email or phone - include the reference code you were looking at and the answer comes back much faster.
